The report say's that Stephenie Meyer's top pick to play Edward Cullen originally is Cavill. By the time shooting was to began, he was 25 - hardly resembling the part of a 17-year old. He understated rumors to MTV News: "I've heard this, but I haven't heard from Stephenie. I haven't spoken to her personally, and I haven't spoken to the producers."
Though he never succeeded in getting the role of Bond, Cullen and Wayne he became quite popular in the TV series The Tudors were he played the role of Charles Brandon, confidant to Jonathan Rhys Meyers's Henry VIII. Add up to that he is the actor who can next be seen opposite Mickey Rourke, Freida Pinto and Kellan Lutz in November’s The Immortals were he's going to play the role of Theseus.
Maybe this year is for him. Just recently it was confirmed that he'll be the newest Man of Steel. Yes Folks Cavill will play as Clark Kent/Superman this year. It came from Warner Bros that Cavill will take the lead role in the forthcoming Superman: Man of Steel movie.
Now the only thing we do is wait and see how much dollars the movie is going to earn.
